Description
Power comes from a 346ci V8 paired with a three-speed manual transmission, and features include two-tone cloth upholstery, a push-button radio, and a heater. Subsequent recognition included a First Place National award from the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) in 1984. Distinguishing features introduced for the 1948 model year included grooved front fender gravel guards, rocker panel brightwork, a fastback roofline, and chrome-accented tail fins inspired by the twin rudders of the WWII-era P-38 Lightning fighter plane. Noted blemishes shown in the gallery include dings behind the left-front wheel and on the roof. Stock 15” steel wheels are finished in red and wear chrome wheel covers. Wide whitewall tires are mounted at each corner and on the trunk-mounted spare. The brake master cylinder was reportedly replaced in 2019. The interior is finished in two-tone patterned cloth with color-coordinated carpets and trim. Equipment includes a heater, roll-up windows, a push-button AM radio, and an analog clock. The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a machine-turned instrument cluster housing a 110-mph speedometer and a five-digit odometer displaying just under 91k miles, with actual mileage unknown.
