Description

1965 Mercury Comet Cyclone 427 SOHC â??Cammerâ? Here is your chance to own a true piece of Ford Muscle Car history. A professionally built 427 SOHC â??Cammerâ? motor stuffed in a 1965 Mercury Comet for the street!! This car was built by a well-known SOHC expert , Butch Engelbrecht (of B&E Motorsports) in 1998. In 2017 the current owner decided to go through the entire car and have everything checked and the engine rebuilt. Why? You may ask. Because his is a stickler on detail and likes to keep his cars in near perfect condition. The 427 SOHC is actually bored and stroked to 456 cu.in. by use of a 428 crankshaft. Stock horsepower was 657. The engine has never been dynoâ??d. The block and heads are date coded to 1966, not a reproduction 427 SOHC side oiler. The engine has less than 50 miles on it since being completed and many of the internal parts are new.
