Description
This 1961 International Harvester Scout 80 reportedly spent time in California before it was acquired and refurbished by the selling dealer in 2020. The work reportedly included a repaint in blue, new upholstery and carpeting, and installation of a reclaimed wood bed floor as well as service of its 152ci inline-four, three-speed manual transmission, and two-speed transfer case. New shocks, an electric fuel pump, an aluminum radiator, and other items were also added. The Scout 80 was the first iteration of the model and debuted in 1960. Features include a white removable cab hardtop, a fold-down windshield, a rear step bumper, and dual fuel fillers. The bed sides have been drilled to accommodate a full hardtop, which is not included in the sale. Painted 16 steel wheels wear STA Super Traxion bias-ply tires. The chassis was steam-cleaned and undercoated, and new Rancho RS5000 and RS5000X shocks were fitted. The bench seat was reupholstered in blue vinyl with white inserts, and new blue carpets were fitted but not glued down. A four-spoke steering wheel frames an 80-mph speedometer with a broken needle, a combination gauge for coolant temperature and fuel level, and period under-dash amperage and oil pressure gauges.
