1953 Volkswagen Beetle Zwitter Sunroof Deluxe 2.0L

This 1953 Volkswagen Beetle is an 11G Deluxe Sedan that was built in March 1953 and utilizes a split-window “Zwitter” body. The car was originally delivered to a dealer in Hamburg, Germany and spent time in Northern California before it was moved to Washington state. In 2013 the body was stripped before being refinished in black, and the striped-cloth interior was redone. Power comes from a replacement 2,007cc flat-four paired with a four-speed synchromesh manual transmission, and other features include dual Weber carburetors, a black fabric sunroof, pop-out semaphore turn indicators, steel wheels with hubcaps and whitewall tires, four-wheel disc brakes, a 12-volt electrical system, a Motorola radio, a hand-wound clock, and a single-glovebox dashboard. In 2013 the exterior was stripped before being refinished in black. Features include a split-oval rear window, a black fabric sunroof, and chrome-finished bumpers with guards. Black-finished 15? steel wheels wear VW-stamped hubcaps and are mounted with Coker whitewall tires. Each corner has been fitted with hydraulic disc brakes, and service in 2017 included performing an alignment as well as replacing the tires, shocks, steering box, and a steering coupling.
