Description
This 1971 Alfa Romeo Montreal was reportedly imported to the US from Italy by Bob Cozza of BOBCOR Racing and spent time in Texas and Nevada before the selling dealerâ??s recent acquisition. Finished in orange over a custom black and orange Alcantara interior, the car underwent a three-year refurbishment before being featured in a September 2016 BaT auction. Power comes from a 2. 6-liter quad-cam V8 paired with a ZF five-speed manual transmission, and modifications include an Alfaholics Fast Road suspension kit, front brakes from a BMW 733i, and 15â?³ Alfaholics aluminum wheels. The Montreal was designed by Marcello Gandini at Bertone, and styling elements include a NACA duct on the hood, retractable headlight covers, and six slats stacked vertically behind each side window. Alfaholics 15Ã?7â?³ aluminum wheels were added during the refurbishment and are wrapped in 205/60 Michelin Pilot Exalto tires. The braking system has been upgraded with a 24mm master cylinder as well as front brakes sourced from a BMW 733i with ventilated discs and two-piston calipers. An Alfaholics Fast Road suspension kit is fitted, which included polyurethane bushings as well as a stiffer front anti-roll bar and drop springs. The interior has been reupholstered in black and orange Alcantara on the seats and door panels. Black carpets are covered with black and orange Coco mats, and a Blaupunkt â??Bahamasâ? radio is installed in the center stack above the factory switchgear.
