Description
This 1966 Jeep CJ-5A is a Tuxedo Park model that was featured on BaT in November 2017 and was acquired by the selling dealer in April 2021. Finished in red with black front bucket seats and a two-tone Surrey Gala top and matching rear seat cushions, the Jeep is powered by a 225ci V6 paired with a three-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Other equipment includes a side-mounted spare tire, 15? steel wheels with chrome covers, side steps, and a six-point roll bar. Offered as a CJ trim level beginning in 1961, the Tuxedo Park had become a standalone model by 1966 and was intended to make Jeep vehicles more comfortable and appealing to the general public. White-finished 15? steel wheels wear chrome covers with 8. 45-15? Goodyear whitewall tires. Tuxedo Park models utilized four-wheel 10? drum brakes. The interior features bucket seats originally trimmed in pleated “calf-grain vinyl” upholstery. Additional amenities include lap belts, a six-point roll bar, a glove compartment, chrome windshield hold-downs, and two-tone upholstered cushions for inward-facing rear seats. A black three-spoke steering wheel wears a wrap and fronts a color-matching steel dash that houses a 90-mph speedometer with inset temperature and fuel gauges.
